The author is requested to examine the manuscript and submit a letter of commitment before submission, as well as guarantee that there will be no academic misconduct such as multiple contributions and repeated publications in the manuscript. CNKI’s academic misconduct literature detection system (AMLC) is used to check all manuscripts. The authors are asked to provide the original data. Once the misconduct of published articles is found, we will follow the guidelines of the International Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE).

Please follow the instructions in the revision letter provided in the editorial decision letter. You will need to:

·        Upload a cover letter giving point-by-point responses to the referees as a supporting document.

2 Editorial Policy

2.1 Originality

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a lecture) or it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication in the present form has been approved by all authors and by the responsible authorities in the institutions where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language, without the consent of CJBMB. Any breach of research or publication ethics including plagiarism, submission of fraudulent results/data including doctored figures, dual publication and false or incomplete attribution of authorship will not be tolerated.

2.2  Peer review process

CJBMB aims to provide authors with constructive, fair and timely reviews. The review process of this journal includes preliminary review, peer review and final review. After authors submit manuscript online, the Editor-in-Chief determines the suitability of manuscripts for publication. Some manuscripts that are not suitable for publication in CJBMB will be declined timely. Then the manuscript that has passed the preliminary examination will be sent to at least two reviewers (single anonymized) who make a recommendation for acceptance, revision or declination based upon the scientific merit and technical quality of the submission(s). Based on peer review, the editorial board makes a decision to deal with the manuscript. The status of each manuscript within the editorial process can be followed online at: http://cjbmb.bjmu.edu.cn.

2.3  Conflict of Interest

Conflict of interest exists when an author (or the author’s institution) has financial or personal relationship with other persons of organizations that inappropriately influences (bias) his or her actions. In “Letter of Commitment”, under a subheading “Conflict of Interest Statement”, all authors must disclose any financial, personal, or their relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence the work submitted. Examples of conflicts include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants. If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state that there are none.

2.4  Informed consent

Studies on patients or volunteers require ethics committee approval and informed consent, which should be documented in the paper. Appropriate consents must be obtained where an author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals in the manuscript submitted.

2.5  Statement of human and animal rights

When reporting experiments on human subjects, authors should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national). When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether the institutional and national guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed.
2.6  Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Expressions of Concern
● Corrections
Changes to published articles that affect the interpretation and conclusion of the article, but do not fully invalidate the article, will, at the editor's discretion, be corrected via publication of an Corrections & Amendments that is indexed and linked to the original article.
● Retractions
On rare occasions, when the scientific information in an article is substantially undermined, it may be necessary for published articles to be retracted. The CJBMB will follow the COPE guidelines in such cases. Retraction articles are indexed and linked to the original article.
● Editorial expressions of concern
When an editor becomes aware of serious concerns regarding interpretation or conclusion of a published article, they may choose to publish a statement alerting the readership. An Editorial Expression of Concern may be superseded by a subsequent Correction or Retraction, but will remain part of the permanent published record.
