Education: Graduated from Harbin Medical University in 1983. Obtained Master Degree (Molecular Virology) from Academy of Preventive Medical Sciences in 1986 and Ph.D. (Molecular Biology) from University of Cambridge in 1994.
Working experience: 1986-1989 Beijing Medical University, lecturer; 1994-1996, Department of Surgery, Cambridge University, senior scientist; 1996-2001, Imutran/Novartis, senior scientist; 1998-2017, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Peking University; 2015 to date, the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Previous positions: Associate Dean (2001-2016) and Acting Dean (2016-2017) of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Basic Medicine, Peking University; Associate Dean of Scientific Research, Peking University School of Basic Medicine (2003-2016).
Teaching and research: engaged in the teaching of biochemistry and molecular biology for more than 30 years, participated in the compilation of 24 textbooks, and served as the editor-in-chief of "Medical Molecular Biology" (2nd) and “Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” (9th) by the People's Medical Publishing House. The main research direction is the stem cell differentiation mechanism, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Education.
