Deciphering the glycocode: A sweet future ahead. Glycans are indispensable for biological organisms. Like the Morse code, glycans exert their functions via their distinct components, types of glycosidic bonds and heterogeneous structures. By integrating tools from chemistry, biology, pharmacology and medical sciences, we will surely embrace a sweet future where glycobiology will illuminate human health and disease.
