Abstract:Enzymatic synthesis of desheptapeptide insulin amide was carried out in aqueous solution in the presence of sucrose.The coupling yield was found to be 45.5%.This medium is an alternative to the co-solvent system commonly used in enzymatic peptide synthesis and may find applications in dealing with hydrophilic peptides and unstable enzymes.
