Abstract:A new cellular senescence inhibited gene (CSIG) was cloned based on a previously obtained fragment with potential of higher expression in young versus senescent 2BS cells by rapid amplification of cDNA ends. The full length of CSIG cDNA is 1961 bp and encodes 490 amino acids. The CSIG mRNA expresses in many important human tissues with different extent. Its protein product located in the specific sites of nuclear might be concentrated in nucleolus.By ectopic expression,it was found that CSIG could delay cellular senescence of 2BS and extend cell lifespan, suggesting that it might participate in ribosomal biosynthesis or act as a transcription co\|factor to regulate cellular senescence.
